A new house definitely deserves a level (pardon the pun) playing field to start with. That's exactly what I was contracted to do by the owner of this house in Gawler recently. All the overgrown vegetation, weeds and tree stump needed to be removed and scraped back to start fresh. It's actually quite amazing how much bigger a space looks when it is cleared!
You can see the stump in the below Before picture and I'd like to also mention that the levels around this house were all over the place. To a home owner this may sound like extra dollars needed to level the entire yard but actually it could play out in your favor. Confused? Keep reading and I'll explain how this may keep you in budget.
Okay, so imagine you have a yard that has all different levels and you want it leveled to one height all over. You're probably thinking you will need to get additional fill delivered to do this. Well, while this may be true for large, large areas, however for your average domestic areas usually not.
This is what I prefer to do to help save my clients money on unnecessary fill and tipping expenses. Take this job as my example. It is a new domestic house with an above average yard area. When I quoted this job I knew I could make it all level with a clean soil base without the need to get new fill in or to dispose of greenery waste.
What I did was use all the scraped back vegetation (including that great big stump) to fill the lowest levels around the yard and push the clean soil over the top. Without sunlight, that buried greenery will not grow, so why not take advantage of that is my oppinion.
Overall this job took me a full days work to complete with no extra tip or fill fees for the owner. If this sounds appealing to you or you are in a similiar situation and think it will just cost too much to get sorted. Then you should give me a call on 0407 155 302 and get me out to quote your job. My quotes (and advice) are completely free. No joke.
