For families that have just had their new home built, I've notice it is pretty common to be left with what looks more like a 'dumping site' then what should actually be their front and back yards. Understandably, this is not always the builders responsibility and the home owners are aware they will need to sort out the Landscaping of their New Home themselves once the build is finished. Which is just like my client today, whom I completed a Front Yard Retaining Wall for.
But for your everyday parents that have jobs to go to and kids to organise, this particular part of their new home usually falls by the way side and takes months to finalize. Well I'm here to tell you that doesn't have to be so.
This particular front yard was just one big giant slope and the owner really didn't know what to do with it because of this. Aside from the original request to just level it off in a decline so it could then be turfed, I suggested putting in some retaining wall levels to split the yard up to both improve the street appeal and the ease of maintenance. I don't think anyone wants to mow a lawn that long on a continuous slope with a push mower (not me anyway).
So once the plan was finalised between the client and myself, I got cracking on transforming his Front Yard into something you'd be happy to come home to. Since the Front Yard Retaining Wall was my idea, I quickly sourced a few extra materials needed (rocks and dirt) at only a little extra cost and had them on site pronto.
